Michelle I. Harris is a member of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria tribe in Central California.  Michelle is learning the Tamal Machchaw (Coast Miwok language) through painting and study with her tribe.  She is an artist and Expressive Arts Therapist.  She is also core faculty at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in Massachusetts in the Counseling and Psychology and Expressive Arts Therapy program.

This beautiful art piece was painted by Michelle Harris and the prayer was written by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria community. What an absolute beautiful piece, and it is featured in this issue’s “In Our Languages” Column of Fall 2014’s News from Native California
