SUMMARY:Indigenous Peoples Sunrise Gathering
DESCRIPTION:The Indigenous Peoples’ Day Sunrise Gathering on October 13th and November 27th are organized by the International Indian Treaty Council commemorating the 1969-71 occupation of Alcatraz by the Indians of All Tribes. It is one-day events and is not the standard Alcatraz Island tour; all areas except for where the ceremony takes place will be closed and inaccessible to the public. \nPlease note there is absolutely no sale of merchandise of any kind allowed on Alcatraz Island\, at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing\, or on the sidewalk outside of Alcatraz Landing. \nWalk-up tickets will be available for purchase the morning of the event. Accessible bathrooms are found at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing and on all Alcatraz Cruises vessels. \nPlease note: there are no wheelchairs available for loan either at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing or on Alcatraz Island. \n
