DESCRIPTION:The Redbud Resource Group is aware that many of you in your work are required to build your Tribal Relations strategies\, and they are here to help! \nIn their Going Beyond Land Acknowledgements interactive workshop\, you will learn about the strengths and limitations of land acknowledgements and explore concrete\, action-oriented strategies for building meaningful\, long term connections with Native  Tribes\, communities\, and organizations. \nHow It Works: \n\n\nWorkshop participants learn about common disparities faced by contemporary Native peoples by examining public health data and hearing from Native community members. \n\n\nThrough small\, facilitated group conversations\, participants will then analyze the purpose and effectiveness of land acknowledgments in addressing these disparities. \n\n\nThe workshop is then wrapped up with a self-assessment\, used to build an improvement plan for growing stronger tribal relations plans. \n\n\nTheir next two workshops will take place on April 8th and April 15th from (10:00am-12:30pm) PST. If you are dedicated to improving your Tribal Relations strategies\, head on over to the Redbud Resource Group’s website and secure your spot today!

The local Native artist community will also have artwork on view in the museum\, and crafts and other goods will be sold by Native artisans. Native-inspired art and game stations for children and guided tours of the museum and site will also be available\, including tours of the site’s famous ancient petroglyphs. Lonyx Landry invite guests to the Opening Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland Art Center Meadow\, 691 Main St.  The drums call people to the opening ceremony of prayer\, song\, and dance.  The air crackles with excitement and sound as the Thundering Moccasins circle the fire with the opening dance.\n\nAlso featured will be traditional dancing by the Bay Area Wintu/Pomo Dancers and the Inter-tribal Youth Dancers. \n​ Traditional Arts and Culture will follow the ceremony until 4:00 p.m. with FREE drop-in\, hands-on craft workshops for  all-ages with guest artists and story tellers from the North State.  Experience Flint Knapping\, throwing the Atlatyl\, Jewelry Making with abalone\, creating Dream Catchers\, and playing traditional stick games.  Learn about the Native Heritage through presentations about Ishi from Beverly Ogle and the Natural Bridge Massacre with a transformative healing – to list just a few experiences to be had.
