DESCRIPTION:Cal Poly Humboldt and CA State Parks present the Indigenous Science Weekend at Sue-Meg State Park SEPTEMBER 27-29th\, 2024.This is a weekend for participants to improve their understanding of the existential crisis\nfaced relating to climate change. Emerging technologies will be explored (i.e.\, other ways\nof meeting energy needs)\, including the local Off Shore Wind (OSW) projects proposed for this\nregion of Indian Country. Presentations and hosted discussions via Elders\, cultural\npractitioners\, Native professionals\, developing professionals (our students)\, & supportive\nspecialists will have a stage for this indigenous truth telling event. DESCRIPTION:The Da Gou Rou Louwi’ Cultural Center is hosting their first annual Native American Day Celebration on September 28th\, 2024 from 11am to 4pm at the Da Gou Rou Louwi’ Cultural Center and Old Town Gazebo in Eureka\, Ca. Their intention is to grow this event into an annual celebration and fundraiser for the Da Gou Rou Louwi’ Cultural Center. There will be cultural presentations by the Lhatsik Hou moulu’l (“House of Tradition” = Cultural Department) and the Shawir Darradaluduk (“We belong outside” = Natural Resources Deparment)\, live music\, and community! \nThey are inviting Native American crafters\, artists\, and artisans to table at the craft fair located around the Old Town Gazebo and sell their goods.
