DESCRIPTION:The Indigenous Peoples’ Day Sunrise Gathering on October 9th and November 23rd\, is organized by the International Indian Treaty Council commemorating the 1969-71 occupation of Alcatraz by the Indians of All Tribes. It is a one-day events and is not the standard Alcatraz Island tour; all areas except for where the ceremony takes place will be closed and inaccessible to the public. \nNovember 23 Event: \nThe ticket booth opens at 3:15 AM and boats will depart Pier 33 at approximately 4:15 AM\, 4:30AM\, 4:45 AM\, 5:00AM\, 5:15 AM\, 5:30 AM\, 5:45 AM\, and 6:00 AM. We encourage you to purchase and print tickets on the web. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 415-981-7625 (ROCK) or from the ticket booth at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing.  General admission is $12.00 per person. Children under 5 years of age are free. \nPlease note there is absolutely no sale of merchandise of any kind allowed on Alcatraz Island\, at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing\, or on the sidewalk outside of Alcatraz Landing.
