DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, Nov 23\, 2024 – Indigenous Sustainable Design Forum & Kumeyaay Canoe (Tule Boats) Workshop\nJoin the forum at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography for an immersive workshop exploring the intersection of ocean sustainability and Indigenous knowledge. Build a full-sized tule reed boat with the opportunity to ride it\, and engage in discussions on ocean conservation\, Kumeyaay canoe-making\, and navigation traditions. This unique workshop is led by Dr. Stanley Rodriguez (Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel Kumeyaay).
