SUMMARY:Indigenous Science Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Cal Poly Humboldt and CA State Parks present the Indigenous Science Weekend at Sue-Meg State Park SEPTEMBER 27-29th\, 2024.This is a weekend for participants to improve their understanding of the existential crisis\nfaced relating to climate change. Emerging technologies will be explored (i.e.\, other ways\nof meeting energy needs)\, including the local Off Shore Wind (OSW) projects proposed for this\nregion of Indian Country. Presentations and hosted discussions via Elders\, cultural\npractitioners\, Native professionals\, developing professionals (our students)\, & supportive\nspecialists will have a stage for this indigenous truth telling event. This event will provide\nthe opportunity to myth bust in all directions regarding what we know\, what we don’t know\,\nand what we need to know to make wise decisions regarding how we deal with the existential\ncrisis of climate change.Contact Lonyx Landry of Cal Poly Humboldt for more informationemail: lbl2@humboldt.eduphone: 707-826-5642
