SUMMARY:Roots of Resilience Uniting Payómkawichum\, Kumeyaay and Ñuu Savi Communities
DESCRIPTION:On December 14th\, come to the Vista Audubon Society Wetlands Reserve\, Payómkawichum territory\, to experience “Returning to Our Homelands.” This project works to re-connect Indigenous young people and their families to their original Payόmkawichum homelands and territories\, and is brought about through collaboration of ‘ataaxum Pomkwaan\, BVAS\, and the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians.\n\n\nLook forward to opening remarks delivered by the San Luis Rey River Tribal Council\, a walk of the estuary\, a speaker panel featuring leaders from  non-profit\, binational Kumeyaay organization Tipey Joa and Mixtec communities\, and a delightful light meal offered by Jardin Mixteco\, ‘ataaxum Pomkwaan and San Luis Rey.\n\n\n\n\nDialogue during the event will be centered on the resilience practices of Indigenous peoples confronting forced displacement on their territories. The organization’s intention is to highlight the roots that bring us together when facing settler colonialism and occupation\, the imposition of the US and Mexican nation/states\, the fast growth of urban communities\, and the extracting practices of multinational mining corporations.\n\n\n\nPlease find the Registration Link below!
