SUMMARY:Live Your Language Alliance (LYLA) 2025 Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Live Your Language Alliance (LYLA) was formed in 2007 by local Native Language Revitalization Teachers because there is a need to share resources\, network with other language teachers\, and offer support opportunities for language revitalization. LYLA provides Native language revitalization training and support to the tribes located in Humboldt and Del Norte counties in Northern California. SUMMARY:Wiyot Goutsuwe’n - Wiyot Day
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Wiyot Goutsuwe’n\, Wiyot Day\, honoring Elders and Veterans will be held on Saturday August 23rd\, 2025\, from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am at Rrawuraglu’ muk Dance grounds (“All my Relations”). \nThis gathering brings Wiyot and Native American community members\, cultural leaders\, and friends of the Tribe from all over Northern California to a one-day celebration of Wiyot Sovereignty\, cultural distinction\, and Family unification. The day will include Traditional Singers and Dancers\, Traditional Games\, Traditional Gambling\, Youth Activities\, Native American Vendors/merchandise\, Educational/Demonstration booths. \nVendor Set up begins at 2:00pm on Saturday August 23rd\, 2025. Vendors are responsible for bringing their own table\, chairs\, and (optional) canopy. Booth fees are $30 plus an item valued at least $15 donated to the raffle drawing. Applications must be received no later than Monday August 18th\, 2025. \nThe Rrawuraghu’muk Dance Grounds (“All my Relations”) are found off Phelan Road from US 101 take the Hookton Road Off-ramp\, take Hookton approximately 4.5 miles\, turn right on Phelan Road\, follow the signs.
