The Indigenous Theater Festival

July 19, 2023 - July 20, 2023

The Inaugural Indigenous Theater Festival is a 2-day event to be held on Wednesday, July 19 at 2 p.m. and Thursday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. The event will be hosted by the Mt. SAC First Peoples Native Center and will feature the Luke Madrigal Indigenous Storytelling Nonprofit from Temecula, Calif.

Day 1 (7/19/23) of the event will feature the play “Menil and Her Heart,” written by Isabella Madrigal (Cahuilla/Turtle Mountain Chippewa) about the national crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women/Girls.

Day 2 (7/20/23) of the event will feature the play “Dragonfly,” written by Sophia Madrigal (Cahuilla/Turtle Mountain Chippewa) about Native foster youth and cultural re-connection.
