RUN4SALMON SAVE THE DATE
Chief Caleen said, “the prayer must continue until the salmon come home” so many things need to be stood for and spoken for, if we don’t speak up and stand to protect the Sacred things, salmon and clean water will become extinct.
In 2022 the tribe held a historic ceremony to introduce salmon eggs above Shasta Dam for the first time in over 80 years and this year those little salmon will be making their journey back upstream with their hearts set on spawning in Winnemem Waywaket (McCloud River).
The tribe will be there to sing their salmon upstream to make the journey safely despite the wildfire smoke and rising temperatures.
