Pá’Čapa Documentary Screening and Directors Panel

Join the college for a screening and panel with directors Lorene Sisquoc, Blossom Maciel, Daisy Ocampo Diaz, and Rosie Aranda.
Mt. Rubidoux, a sacred mountain located in Riverside, California, overlooks the Santa Ana River bend. This mountain is an iconic Riverside landmark and includes a three-mile recreational trail that reaches upward of 1,000 visitors a day. Monuments and plaques on Mt. Rubidoux centers on settler colonial history.
Through engagement with tribal communities, this documentary seeks to present the voices of culture bearers to highlight Native Peoples perspectives on how this is a sacred space. As women of Southern California tribes the team looks to make visible the Native stories of this historic place.
