Good Medicine, the all-Native, megahit comedy show, continues its fourth season, returning for the third year in a row to the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) Saturday, September 14. Hosted and produced by comedian and actress Jackie Keliiaa (Netflix), Saturday’s show features headliner Kasey Nicholson (Rezzalicious), Ryan Moccasin (The Feather News), and dk echohawk (Indigequeer).
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
Jackie Keliiaa (Yerington Paiute/Washoe/Native Hawaiian) is an Oakland-based comedian, writer, actor, and producer. She’s featured in one of the Best Books of 2021 by NPR and Esquire, We Had a Little Real Estate Problem: The Unheralded Story of Native Americans & Comedy. Keliiaa has been featured on Comedy Central, Team Coco, Netflix, and IllumiNative’s 25 Native American Comedians to Follow. She is a regular at Bay Area venues and has performed at San Francisco SketchFest, Punch Line San Francisco, and Cobb’s Comedy Club.
Kasey Nicholson is a member of the A’aa’niii’nin (WhiteClay Nation) of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in North-Central Montana. Kasey also has bloodlines tied to the Blackfeet Nation, Blood Nation, Crow Nation, Arapaho Nation, Alaskan Native Nations and Cree Nations. Kasey is from Fort Belknap Indian Community, and currently resides in Billings, MT. Kasey has earned his B.S. in Health and Human Development from Montana State University-Bozeman and attained his M.S. in Rehabilitation & Mental Health from Montana State University-Billings
Saskatchewan-born comedian, producer, and author Ryan Moccasin is known for The Feather News, a satirical news program streaming on APTN Lumi. He is also the author of the sci-fi novel Suicide Empire, which was featured on CBC Radio, APTN, and Eagle Feather News. Moccasin was featured in the 2023 Just For Laughs Originals live comedy album Stand-Up: Prairies – Low Ham Content and he has performed at notable comedy festivals across the U.S., including the Empire State Comedy Festival and the Riot Comedy Festival.
dk echohawk (Pawnee/Athabaskan) is a queer, trans-nonbinary comedian, musician, DJ, burlesque performer, writer, event producer, and visual artist. They were named one of the top 26 Native American Comedians to Follow by UPROXX in 2020. echohawk is the founder of Indigenize Productions, a collection of Native performing artists, and has been producing the Indigequeer party and tour in Seattle since 2021.
ABOUT THE EVENT AND VENUE:
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Come early for tunes from Cherokee artist and songwriter John Paul Hodge, food by Wahpepah’s Kitchen and Provecho, and handcrafted jewelry, beadwork and accessories from the Native artisan market. Alcoholic drinks and other beverages will also be available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring their own food; however, no outside alcoholic beverages are allowed in the venue.
The show will be held outdoors in the fabulous OMCA Garden area, so organizers recommend that guests bring blankets or low chairs—tall chairs are not permitted as they obstruct views of the stage. Lawn space is first come, first served. Accessible seating is also available.
