• Agua Caliente Cultural Museum Not-for-profit organization that preserves, interprets, and provides access to the history and culture of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and other Cahuilla peoples

• Indian Grinding Rock State Historical Park Features a variety of exhibits and a vast collection of Sierra Nevada Indian artifacts.

• Marin Museum of the American Indian Providing the people of Northern California with programs and exhibits that deepen understanding and appreciation of Native American cultures.
• Maturango Museum Sponsors many programs and tours, including tours to the world-famous Coso petroglyphs.
• Mission Dolores Mission Dolores in San Francisco, led by two Ohlone curators, is making huge efforts to transform the Mission experience, while focusing on California Indian survival, perseverance, and continuity in spite of hardships of Spanish colonization.
• Miwok Archaeological Preserve of Marin MAPOM seeks to promote accurate knowledge of the Coast Miwok Indians, the first people of Marin and southern Sonoma counties.
• National Museum of the American Indian NMAI has one of the most extensive collections of Native American arts and artifacts in the world—representing over 12,000 years of history and more than 1,200 indigenous cultures throughout the Americas.
• Northern Californian Indian Development Council The work of over 40 local Indian artists is currently represented in the shop, along with many non-local Indian artists and craftspeople.
• Oakland Museum of California The California Indian collections contain everyday and ceremonial objects, including thousands of baskets from hundreds of Native cultural groups across the state.
• Palm Springs Art Museum Features 19th, 20th, and 21st century works focusing on contemporary California art, classic western and Native American art.
• Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology Currently closed for renovation. Re-opens in Fall 2014. Supports scholarly and community-based research and provides exhibitions, educational experiences and cultural programs.
• Riverside Metropolitan Museum The Museum houses over 100,000 artitacts in its collections in the disciplines of Natural History, Anthropology, and History.
• San Bernardino County Museum Regional museum with exhibits and collections in cultural and natural history.
• San Diego Museum of Man Anthropological museum containing artifacts, folk art, and archaeological finds.
• Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History The collections contain more than three million artifacts and specimens in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, vertebrate and invertebrate biology, geology and paleontology, art, library, and archives.
• Santa Rosa Junior College Museum Traditional Native American art makes up the greatest portion of the collection, with all of the North American Indian culture areas represented. Art forms include ceramics, basketry, beadwork, sculpture, textiles, and jewelry.
• Sherman Indian Museum Talking circle, traditional teachings, Sacred Voices speaker series, Powwow workshops, arts/craft workshops, sweatlodge, community outreach, Inter-tribal dance group performances.
• Tomo-Kahni State Park (Kawaiisu) Tomo-Kahni, or "Winter Village," was the site of a Kawaiisu (Nuwa) village.
• Turtle Bay Exploration Park The exhibits feature a mix of richly layered interpretative material, multimedia exhibits, science experiments, self-guided exploration, and play features.
