Tips to use language at home with your family:
- Spend time every day with your language.
- Set a timer for 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and each day increase the amount of time that you use the language.
- Turn on a favorite movie, one that your child knows all the lines by heart, put it on mute, and try to translate the movie lines into your language.
- Read a book together using your language.
- Do a puppet show in your language, it can even be based on a traditional story or have your child create a new story and act it out in the language.
- Translate a common nursery rhyme or popular song into your language and try.
- Make labels for household items in your language and place them around the house.
