Honored Elders Day

This event is held to honor and commemorate California Native Elders—the keepers of the traditions—for their role in passing down the cultural history of Native people. Lunch is served to tribal Elders from all over California; Native dancers, community services organizations, and arts & crafts artisans are on hand to enrich the community experience. Additionally, the governor’s office presents an official proclamation in celebration of the contributions of California’s Native people.
Located at the State Indian Museum – 2618 K Street, Sacramento.
