Kumeyaay Nation Exhibit

The Sycuan Cultural Resource Center & Museum is proud to partner with the Museum Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation in presenting the story of the Kumeyaay Nation and its historic tradition to care for and nurture their ancestral homeland. For the month of May, the Gaslamp Museum will display and share rare photographs, informational & historical panels, artifacts, and live demonstrations of traditional arts and crafts. The exhibition is open to the public on Thursday to Saturdays.

Opening Day May 2nd 10am – Bird singing, Welcome by Miss & Little Miss Kumeyaay Nation, Light refreshments & Prickly Pear Lemonade
May 7th – basket weaving demonstration along with Native craft vendors including Indian tacos and frybread dessert.
May 15th – learn how to make traditional yucca cordage; workshop will be open to the public.
May 22nd – featured Guest Speakers:

Jamie Labrake , Sycuan
