Luke Madrical is a UC Riverside alumni who dedicated his life to uplifting the community. He worked in Indian child welfare and to revitalize the Cahuilla bird singing tradition. He was featured in News from Native California and is the namesake of the Luke Madrigal Act Protecting Children Missing from Foster Care (AB 2180).
Upon his passing in 2020, family and friends established this scholarship to support UC Riverside students who demonstrate that their future life will be dedicated to the service of Native Americans, especially in California. In order for this scholarship fund to live on in perpetuity honoring Luke’s memory as an endowed scholarship fund, it needs to reach a seeded amount of $25,000. Without that, the scholarship will only live as long as the current funding lasts.
We have $15,000 to go and a deadline of 6/30/2025!!
Please share the flyer far and wide –
