Basket Weaving Demonstration Day

November 16 @ 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Let’s take a moment to appreciate Dixie Rogers, a Karuk basket weaver and cultural practitioner from the Klamath region. Her passion for her art was passed down through generations of her family, many of whom were accomplished weavers. Dixie works with traditional native plants for her weaving, and gathers her materials at the ancestral sites where her grandmother and generations of her family gathered basket materials on the Klamath and Salmon Rivers in Northern California.

She has given countless workshops and has had her work exhibited throughout the state. On November 16, she will be demonstrating her weaving acumen from 11 am – 4 pm at the California State Indian Museum at 2618 K Street in Sacramento. Call 916-324-0971 for details.
